Late night Five Five

Posted by Wedge

About a month ago I mentioned the Five Five Project. Well, I sent in one piece shortly after that, and will be putting another in the mail today. Here they are:

No story.

“This hombre is Scalor! He’s the most feared luchador this side of town! His signature move is ‘Slither of Fear!’
When he’s not busy dominating in the ring he goes by Jorge and is known amongst his classmates for his wicked multiplication skills.”

I also did a picture for the 100 Artists Project:

No story for this one either, except that he really loves fish.

I also drew another little mouse.
This one is Apodemus sylvaticus, also known as a wood mouse.

I’m open to doing pet portraits and am available for commissions, e-mail me for details.

Sure enough

I forgot to stop to snap a picture or two before I packaged up the scarf.

Here are a couple of pictures I drew to compensate for the lack of scarf pictures.

A chipper little genie I drew for my sister.

Koh-I-Noor ink on cardstock.

How very scary!

Koh-I-Noor ink on textured cardstock.

Story pending.
A harpy doing something or other.

Koh-I-Noor ink on cardstock.

A man and his dog.
I haven’t come up with names for either of them yet.

Koh-I-Noor ink on cardstock.

A little mouse.

Now I’m off to do homework.

Long overdue.

Posted by Wedge

I apologize again for my long absence. I’m working hard to remedy the situation.

First I’ll update on what I’ve received from my wonderful friend at A&M.

This is a beautiful drawing my friend sent me of a window. It reads “Imagine what lies outside…”

She also sent a lovely boondoggle that reads “Life is for living,” and has an interesting rock attached to the end, it looks like an arrowhead.

I’ve also prepared quite a few things to send out. Here are a couple of sneaky mice that will be traveling to their new homes over the next few days.

That’s all I’ll post of these special packages for the time being, I don’t want to spoil anyone’s surprise.

I also sent out a post card quite some time ago to my post-pal over in Australia.

“As Randolph stood in the elevator he repeated his mantra aloud, “I will succeed in this endeavor.” It was the day of his big meeting with the future. He had done all he could to prepare: he practiced his greeting and etiquette, wore his best suit, and had attempted to get a full night’s rest. An upward glance at the slowly increasing numbers made Randolph realize the present was precious.”

Acrylic and ink on a post card.

And a quick update:The sheep has been named Barnaby, and has been entered into a student show at school.

One week down, several to go.

Posted by Wedge

The first week of school is over, and I’m a little tired. This semester promises to be a busy one.

This week I did an illustration for a group challenge on redbubble, the challenge was to draw something with the theme “Father and Son.” Here is my entry:

A charming portrait of a proud father and his son.
Yes, his son has a tiny mustache.

Here you can see that the lad takes after his father.

Mixed media on Bristol vellum.
Approximately 5.6″ by 7.6″
Prints of various sizes are available on redbubble here.
Original for sale: $100.
If you are interested in purchasing “Father & Son” you may contact me at postrevival@yahoo.com

I have also done a little drawing of an elephant as a piece of gift art.

”This is Wilma, the elephant. She likes to keep her mind busy, as you can see. At the moment I drew her she had quite a lot going through her mind. She was pondering everything from mice and lions to her son and what leaves she might have for supper.
An elephant’s work is never done.”

Ink on cardstock.
Card prints of Wilma are available for sale here

I draw little pictures, and write little stories on their backs. The stories are usually inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s “Just So Stories.”

Post Revival is in the planning stage, stay tuned for updates. If you would care to sign up to receive an altered post card or gift image and letter from me send me an e-mail at postrevival@yahoo.com.
